Getting started with Fraktjakt for WooCommerce
Last modified:
This guide takes you from a WooCommerce store with no shipping integration to a booked Fraktjakt shipment with a printed label.
Most of the work happens in a guided onboarding flow that you start from the WordPress admin. It creates your Kroconnect account and subscription, connects your store to your Fraktjakt account, and writes the settings back into WooCommerce for you.
Set aside about 20 minutes.
Before you start
- A WooCommerce store with the Kroconnect WooCommerce Connector plugin installed and activated, and administrator access to WordPress.
- A Fraktjakt account. Register at fraktjakt.se first. The onboarding asks for your Fraktjakt credentials — it does not create the account for you.
- A publicly reachable store URL. At the end of the flow, Kroconnect calls your store to save the settings automatically. A store on localhost, or behind HTTP authentication or IP restrictions, can’t be reached — see If the settings weren’t filled in.
- Payment details for the subscription. You can also start on a free trial and add a card later.
Step 1 — Create WooCommerce API credentials
Kroconnect talks to your store through the WooCommerce REST API. These keys are not created automatically — you make them yourself before starting the onboarding.
- In the WordPress admin, go to WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → REST API.
- Click Add key.
- Enter a description (for example Kroconnect), select a user with administrator rights, and set Permissions to Read/Write.
- Click Generate API key.
- Copy the Consumer key and the Consumer secret and keep them somewhere safe.
Note! The consumer secret is only shown once. If you leave the page without copying it, you have to generate a new key. In the Kroconnect onboarding these two values are the fields named API Key and API Secret.
Step 2 — Find your Fraktjakt credentials
- Log in to Fraktjakt and open your integration settings.
- Copy the Consignor ID and the Consignor Key.
You’ll paste both into the onboarding in Step 7.
Step 3 — Start the onboarding from WooCommerce
- In the WordPress admin, open Kroconnect from the main menu.
- Find the Fraktjakt card in the integrations list and click it.
- In the panel that opens, click Start onboarding in the Get started box.
Kroconnect opens in a new browser tab. The link carries your name, email address and store address from the WooCommerce settings, along with your store URL — so several fields in the coming steps are already filled in for you.
Step 4 — Confirm your plan
The first onboarding screen is prefilled for this flow: the Shipping package, with WooCommerce and Fraktjakt as the connected products.
Choose the order volume tier that matches your store and continue. Current prices are listed on kroconnect.com.
Step 5 — Client information
Fill in your company details: company name, organization number, contact name, invoicing email and address. VAT number is optional, and you can give a separate email address for your user account if invoices should go somewhere else.
Accept the terms and conditions and click Continue.
If you don’t already have a Kroconnect account, you’re sent to the signup page at this point, with your email address prefilled. Create the account, and you’re returned to the onboarding where you left off.
Step 6 — Payment
Review the order summary and complete the subscription.
If you’d rather try things out first, use Skip Payment and continue with free trial — the subscription starts with a 14-day trial and you can add a card later from your Kroconnect account.
Step 7 — Connect your store and Fraktjakt
This is the step that ties everything together. It’s a single form with two halves:
WooCommerce
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Store URL | Already filled in from your store. Check that it matches the address customers use. |
| API Key | The Consumer key from Step 1. |
| API Secret | The Consumer secret from Step 1. |
Fraktjakt
Submit the form. Kroconnect verifies both connections and creates two workflows for your store — one that sends shipment bookings from WooCommerce to Fraktjakt, and one that sends delivery confirmations from Fraktjakt back to WooCommerce.
When it’s done you land on a You’re all set! confirmation.
Running more than one store? If your subscription covers several WooCommerce stores, the form shows one row per store. The first row always creates a new Fraktjakt connection; later rows can Reuse Fraktjakt from another workflow if the stores ship from the same Fraktjakt account, or Skip Fraktjakt for this store.
Step 8 — Back in WooCommerce
Go back to the WordPress admin tab and reload the page.
Kroconnect has called your store and saved the settings for you. Under Kroconnect → Fraktjakt you should now see:
- Enable — turned on.
- Logging — turned on, so you have request logs while getting started.
- Consignor ID and Consignor Key — filled in.
- Book shipment Workflow ID and Delivery Confirmation Workflow ID — filled in.
If those fields are empty, see If the settings weren’t filled in below.
This is also a good moment to look at the remaining settings — Create shipment action in particular, which controls whether shipments are booked automatically at a given order status or only when you click the button. They’re all described in Fraktjakt for WooCommerce.
Step 9 — Add Fraktjakt to your shipping methods
The integration is connected, but nothing shows at checkout yet. You have two ways to present Fraktjakt shipping — pick one per shipping method.
Store-controlled shipping (recommended)
You keep your existing WooCommerce shipping methods and prices, and map each one to a Fraktjakt service. Fraktjakt is used to fetch pickup points and to check that the service is available for the order.
- Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Shipping.
- Open a shipping zone and edit one of its shipping methods.
- Set Fraktjakt Service to the service this method should book with.
- Save.
Repeat for each shipping method that should book through Fraktjakt. The same screen has optional weight, price and shipping-class thresholds — see Shipping method setup for the full list.
Customer-controlled shipping
Add the Fraktjakt shipping method itself to a zone, without mapping services. Every available Fraktjakt service is then shown as its own option at checkout, with live prices and delivery times from Fraktjakt, and pricing rules are managed in your Fraktjakt account.
Check the checkout
Place a test order in your store. You should see your shipping options as usual, and for services that deliver to a pickup point, a selector showing nearby points.
Step 10 — Book your first shipment
- Open the test order in WooCommerce → Orders.
- Find the Shipping Information metabox on the order edit screen. It shows the selected Fraktjakt service and, if applicable, the chosen pickup point.
- Click Book shipment.
The status changes to Created, and the metabox now shows the trace number, a tracking link, and download buttons for the shipping label and any other documents.
If the metabox shows Fetch available Fraktjakt services instead of a booking button, the order’s shipping method has no Fraktjakt service assigned yet. Click it, choose a shipping product (and a pickup point if the service needs one), then Save selected shipping option.
That’s the full loop. From here, Fraktjakt for WooCommerce covers booking from the order list, booking in bulk, merging labels into a single PDF, and everything else day to day.
Troubleshooting
Fraktjakt isn’t in the integrations list
Reload the WordPress admin page. The list is rendered when the page loads, so it won’t pick up the new connection until you refresh.
If the settings weren’t filled in
At the end of the onboarding, Kroconnect calls a URL on your store to save the credentials and workflow IDs. That call is made from Kroconnect’s servers to your store, so it only works if your store is reachable from the internet — it will fail on a local development site, or behind HTTP authentication, an IP allowlist or a firewall. See Firewalls, DNS and security products.
If the fields under Kroconnect → Fraktjakt are still empty, you can fill them in by hand:
- Consignor ID and Consignor Key — the same values you entered in Step 2.
- Book shipment Workflow ID and Delivery Confirmation Workflow ID — copy them from the workflows in your Kroconnect account.
Then set Enable to on and save.
You didn’t finish the onboarding
If you closed the tab partway through, open your Kroconnect dashboard — it has a link that takes you back into the Fraktjakt setup and prefills what you’d already completed.
Booking a shipment fails
Turn on Logging and check WooCommerce → Status → Logs, source kroconnect_fraktjakt. The most common causes are a missing or wrong Book shipment Workflow ID, and Fraktjakt credentials in WooCommerce that don’t match the ones on the Fraktjakt connection in Kroconnect.
