Kroconnect WooCommerce Connector
Last modified:
Overview
The Kroconnect WooCommerce Connector is the plugin that connects your WooCommerce store to the Kroconnect platform. It makes WooCommerce data available to Kroconnect — orders, products, customers, stock, and shipments — and applies updates that Kroconnect sends back, such as order status changes, tracking numbers, invoice references, and stock corrections from connected systems.
The plugin itself does not talk directly to ERPs, accounting systems, or shipping carriers. Those connections are configured in the Kroconnect platform. The plugin’s job is to be a reliable, well-defined endpoint on the WooCommerce side.
One exception: customer-facing shipping experiences at checkout — such as real-time rate lookups and pickup-point selection with Fraktjakt and nShift Checkout 2.0 — talk directly between the plugin and the shipping provider, so shoppers see live options without a round-trip through the Kroconnect platform.
How it fits together
A typical setup has three layers:
WooCommerce ⇄ Kroconnect WooCommerce Connector (this plugin) ⇄ Kroconnect platform ⇄ Connected systems (ERP, accounting, shipping, marketplaces, etc.)
Routing, field mapping, and business rules live in the Kroconnect platform. The plugin exposes WooCommerce data and reacts to instructions, so the same store can be connected to several systems at once without each integration re-implementing the WooCommerce side.
What flows between WooCommerce and Kroconnect
From WooCommerce to Kroconnect
- New and updated orders, including line items, fees, taxes, shipping, and customer details
- Product/article data and stock levels
- Customer data tied to orders
- Shipment information when shipping integrations are used
From Kroconnect to WooCommerce
- Order status updates (e.g. paid, shipped, completed)
- Tracking numbers and shipment references
- Invoice and document references from the connected ERP
- Stock updates from external systems
- Product data updates where a system is the source of truth
Inbound updates arrive as webhooks. Outbound data is exposed through Kroconnect-specific extensions to the WooCommerce REST API.
What the plugin adds to WooCommerce
- A dedicated Kroconnect menu in the WordPress admin sidebar with a dashboard, news, documentation links, and per-integration settings.
- Extra REST API endpoints and fields used by the Kroconnect platform.
- A webhook receiver for inbound events.
- Extra product fields needed by downstream systems (for example shipping metadata, article codes, and ERP-specific identifiers).
- Order list columns and order actions for relevant integrations.
- Shipping label generation through Fraktjakt.
- Full HPOS (High-Performance Order Storage) compatibility.
Workflows
In the Kroconnect platform, each automation between WooCommerce and an external system is set up as a Workflow — for example, “send an order to the ERP when it reaches status processing” or “update WooCommerce stock when the ERP reports a change.”
Each Workflow has a unique Workflow ID. To activate a Workflow for a store, paste the Workflow ID into the corresponding field in the integration’s settings inside the Kroconnect menu. The same plugin install can run several Workflows in parallel, and Workflows can be added or changed in the Kroconnect platform without any code changes on the WooCommerce side.
Available integrations
Each integration has its own documentation page with detailed settings and workflow descriptions:
- Specter (ERP)
- Fraktjakt (shipping and labels)
- nShift Checkout 2.0
- nShift Delivery
- Kustom Shipping Assistant (KSA) for WooCommerce
- Fortnox
- Spiris (Visma eAccounting)
- Contrl
More integrations are added over time. The integrations available to a store depend on the Workflows configured for it in the Kroconnect platform.
