Fraktjakt for WooCommerce

Last modified:

Overview

The Fraktjakt integration connects your WooCommerce store to your Fraktjakt account. It shows real-time shipping rates at checkout, and lets you book shipments, print labels and receive delivery confirmations directly from WooCommerce.

How it works at checkout

There are two ways to present Fraktjakt shipping at checkout:

  • Store-controlled shipping — you map a Fraktjakt service to each of your WooCommerce shipping methods and set the price manually on the method. Customers see your normal shipping options. In the background, Fraktjakt is used to fetch pickup points and to check whether the mapped service is available for the order. With the Deferred mode of Limit shipping calculations, pickup points are still fetched at checkout (so the customer can choose one), but the shipping query runs only after the order is placed. The price is not fetched from Fraktjakt in this flow.
  • Customer-controlled shipping — each available Fraktjakt service is shown as its own option at checkout, with live pricing and delivery times from Fraktjakt.

For services that deliver to a pickup point, a pickup-point selector is shown to the customer automatically.

How shipping requests work

Behind the scenes, the connector makes two kinds of request to Fraktjakt:

  • Shipping query — sends the customer’s address and the cart contents, and receives the available shipping services. This request also returns a Fraktjakt shipment ID, which is later used to book the shipment — so a query has to run before a shipment can be created. This is the slower of the two requests.
  • Pickup-point request — sends the shipping service (or carrier) and the customer’s address, and receives the list of nearby pickup points. It doesn’t need the cart contents or a shipment ID.

A single checkout can make several requests — one query, plus one pickup-point request per pickup-point service on offer. The Deferred option (in Limit shipping calculations, for store-controlled shipping) exists to keep checkout fast: during checkout it makes only the pickup-point requests, and defers the slower shipping query until the order-received page (after the customer pays). This avoids timeouts — for example, Kustom Shipping Assistant allows the shipping partner about 5 seconds to respond, which a full query at checkout can exceed.

Prerequisites

  • The Kroconnect WooCommerce Connector plugin is installed and activated.
  • An active Fraktjakt account with a Consignor ID and Consignor Key.
  • An active Kroconnect account with the required Workflows configured — a Book shipment Workflow, and optionally a Delivery Confirmation Workflow.connect account with the following Workflows set up for your store:
    • A Book shipment Workflow
    • A Delivery Confirmation Workflow

If you don’t yet have a Kroconnect account, the Kroconnect dashboard in WordPress includes a one-click onboarding flow that creates the account and pre-fills the credentials for you.

Shipping method setup

Store-controlled shipping (butiksstyrd frakt)

Store-controlled shipping is the recommended and most common way to configure Fraktjakt shipping in your store. It connects an existing WooCommerce shipping method to a Fraktjakt service.

Configure it under WooCommerce → Settings → Shipping by editing a method within a zone. The following fields are available:

SettingDescription
Fraktjakt ServiceThe Fraktjakt service this method maps to. Fraktjakt is queried to check whether the service is available for the order; the displayed price is set manually on the WooCommerce method. Select No Fraktjakt Connection to disable Fraktjakt for this method.
Free shipping thresholdCart total above which shipping becomes free. Leave blank to disable.
Minimum / Maximum weight thresholdShow this method only when the cart weight is within the range.
Minimum / Maximum price thresholdShow this method only when the cart total is within the range.
Required shipping classesShow this method only when the cart contains at least one product from one of the selected shipping classes.
Excluded shipping classesHide this method when the cart contains a product from any of the selected shipping classes.
Force display of shipping methodShow this method even if Fraktjakt does not return the corresponding service in the rate query. Useful as a fallback.

Customer-controlled shipping (kundstyrd frakt)

For this option, add the Fraktjakt shipping method directly to a zone, without per-method service mapping. All logic for shipping pricing and availability is then handled from the settings in your Fraktjakt account.

Pickup points

For services that deliver to a pickup point, the customer gets a selector showing nearby service points. It works in both block-based and shortcode checkouts. The selected point is stored on the order and sent to Fraktjakt when the shipment is booked.

Working with shipments on orders

Once an order comes in, you manage its Fraktjakt shipment from the Shipping Information metabox on the order edit screen. The metabox appears only when the order has a shipping method.

What the metabox shows depends on how far the shipment has progressed:

  • A service is already selected — it shows the chosen Fraktjakt service and, for pickup-point services, the selected pickup point. You can change the pickup point with Edit → choose another → Change, up until the shipment is booked.
  • Ready to book — a Book shipment button books the shipment, and a Re-sync button re-pulls the current state from Fraktjakt.
  • After booking — the status changes to Created and the metabox shows the Trace number, a Track shipment link, download buttons for the shipping documents, and a Cancel shipment button.

Assigning a Fraktjakt service to an order

If the order’s shipping method doesn’t already have a Fraktjakt service assigned — for example, an order created manually in the admin — the metabox shows a Fetch available Fraktjakt services button instead. To assign a service:

  1. Click Fetch available Fraktjakt services.
  2. Choose a Shipping product — and a Pickup point, if the service delivers to one.
  3. Click Save selected shipping option.

Use Change shipping service to fetch and pick a different service. Once a service is assigned, you can book the shipment as described above.

Booking shipments

There are four ways to book a shipment:

  1. Automatically — when the order reaches the status set in the Create shipment action setting.
  2. From the order edit screen — the Book shipment button in the Shipping Information metabox.
  3. From the order list — the Book Fraktjakt shipment row action.
  4. In bulk — select several orders and choose Book Fraktjakt shipments from the bulk actions.

Booking runs the Book shipment Workflow, which returns the shipment ID, tracking data and documents, and stores them on the order.

A shipment is never booked twice — once an order has a booked shipment, it is skipped. A booking is also blocked if the same order was sent in the last five minutes, to prevent duplicates.

Printing labels and documents

After a shipment is booked, its documents are available:

  • On the order — download buttons in the metabox (shipping label and any other documents), plus the Print Fraktjakt label and Download … row actions on the order list.
  • In bulk — Open Fraktjakt labels, Open Fraktjakt delivery notes and Open Fraktjakt packing slips merge the documents from all selected orders into a single PDF.

Delivery Notes and Packing Slips are available if you have the Fraktjakt Plus or Pro plan.

Supplementary product data for customs documents

If you sell to countries outside of Sweden, you may need to print additional shipping documents alongside your shipping labels. When printing commercial invoices, proforma invoices, and customs documents, supplementary information about the products in the order must be sent to Fraktjakt. Read more about how to add extra product info on the page about product data for supplementary shipping documents.

Viewing shipments in Kroconnect

Booked shipments also appear in your Kroconnect account. Opening a shipment there shows a detailed view — customer information, articles, weight and status — with links to track the shipment and open its label.

Troubleshooting

  • Enable Logging to write each request and response to the WooCommerce log. Find the logs under WooCommerce → Status → Logs, filtered to the kroconnect_fraktjakt source.
  • If a shipping method doesn’t appear in checkout, check the weight, price, and shipping-class thresholds on the method, and confirm the selected Fraktjakt service is still available in your Fraktjakt account.
  • If a booking fails, the failure is recorded in the order notes and the WooCommerce log. Double-check the Book shipment Workflow ID and the Consignor credentials.
  • If a service ID changes in Fraktjakt, clear the cached shipping products list by editing and saving any shipping zone (this forces a refresh).
